Alloy 625

Alloy 625 is Nickel-Chromium-Molybdenum-Columbium alloy, which possess excellent resistance to oxidation and corrosion over a broad range of corrosive environment. It has outstanding strength and toughness at temperatures ranging from cryogenic to elevated temperatures in the range of 2000 degrees Fahrenheit ( 1093 degrees centigrade). UNS N06625 also has exceptional fatigue resistance.Molybdenum and columbium increase the strength property, which contribute to its excellent corrosion resistance, especially resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion.

At 1800 ºF, scaling resistance becomes a significant factor in service. It is superior to many other high temperature alloys under cyclic heating and cooling conditions.

Alloy 625 also possesses a high degree of formability and weldability compared to other nickel base alloys. Special alloys are produced by vacuum induction melting or by AOD refining.Consumable electrode remelting procedures maybe used to further refine the material.

DESIGN FEATURES
Outstanding resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, impingement corrosion and intergranular attack.
Almost complete freedom from Chloride induced stress corrosion cracking.
Good resistance to mineral acids, such as nitric, phosphoric, sulphuric and hydrochloric acids.
Good resistance to alkalis and organic acids.
Good mechanical properties.
