Inconel 600

Inconel 600 is an alloy that can be applied to aeroengine components.

600 alloy is a nickel-chromium-iron based solid solution strengthening alloy with good high temperature corrosion and oxidation resistance, excellent hot and cold processing and welding process performance, with satisfactory thermal strength and high plasticity below 700 ℃. Alloy can be strengthened by cold working, but also can be resistance welding, welding or brazing connection.

Corrosion resistance

600 alloy for a variety of corrosive media have corrosion resistance. Chromium

The composition gives the alloy better corrosion resistance under oxidative conditions than nickel 99.2 (alloy 200) and nickel 99.2 (alloy 201, low carbon). At the same time, higher nickel content makes the alloy have good corrosion resistance in reducing conditions and alkaline solution, and can effectively prevent chloride-iron stress corrosion cracking. 600 alloy in acetic acid, acetic acid, formic acid, stearic acid and other organic acids, has good corrosion resistance, inorganic acid has a moderate corrosion resistance. Very good corrosion resistance in high purity water used in primary and secondary recycle in nuclear reactors. Particularly prominent performance is able to resist the corrosion of dry chlorine and hydrogen chloride, the application temperature of 650 ℃. At high temperatures, annealed and solution treated alloys have good resistance to oxidation spalling and high strength in the air.

The alloy is also resistant to ammonia and nitriding, carburizing atmospheres, but the alloy is subject to partial oxidation of the medium as the redox conditions change alternately.

Processing

Thermal processing

1. Hot working temperature range 1200 ℃ ~ 900 ℃, the cooling mode is water quenching or rapid air cooling.

2. Get the best corrosion resistance and the most appropriate crystal structure, heat treatment to be heat treatment.

3. Materials can be sent directly to the furnace has been warming.

Cold processing

1. Cold working materials should be annealed or solution heat treated state, 600 alloy hardening rate and austenitic stainless steel close, so you can choose similar processing equipment.

2. In the cold process should be carried out during the intermediate annealing.

3. In the cold work more than 5%, then the need for the workpiece solution treatment.

4. In order to reduce the material wear, the mold should choose alloy tool steel, cemented carbide or cast steel.

Welding process

Alloy welding performance is good, can be arc welding, welding, resistance welding and brazing and other methods of connection, large or complex welding structure after welding should be annealed at 870 ℃ 1h, in order to eliminate welding stress.

Parts heat treatment process

Parts of the heat treatment process should be based on the corresponding material standard heat treatment system. Annealing of sheet and strip parts should be performed in a protective atmosphere.

Inconel600 is belong to specialty alloy (superalloy).
